Location of employment is Abbotsford, BC.

Benefits include overtime in accordance with BC ESA, 15 days of vacation time per year, extended health, life insurance, disability insurance and matching RRSP after two years.

Salary range: $32-35/hour, depending on experience.

You will be working with many of our staff and reporting to our 3D Design & Drafting Manager.

Knowledge and experience with timber design & detailing would be an asset.

Proficiency in Building Information Modeling (BIM) software such as HSB CAD, Revit, TEKLA Structures, and Blue Beam software.

Strong communication skills and a good understanding of the English language, both orally and in writing.Good knowledge of geometry, trigonometry, and a strong aptitude for spatial reasoning.Knowledge in drafting standards and principles.Must have completion of minimum 2 year college program in engineering design and drafting technology.Maintaining and growing construction industry technical knowledge.Manage and prioritize tasks to meet scheduled deadlines.Continual improvement of design & drafting process to improve efficiency and reduce design cycle times.Standardization of connections, fasteners & fabrication techniques to improve production efficiency.Lead design coordination with external teams, engineers, and contractors.Production of detailed drawings for approval, engineering, and production.Working with fabrication crews and CNC machines to ensure models are translated accurately into human- and machine-readable information.Creation of fabrication drawings and CNC files.Design for fabrication – we build everything we design, so prototyping and close interaction with the shop floor and CNC machines is critical.3D modeling from conceptual phase through to fabrication, assemblies, and installation.There are currently 3 position available. As we both fabricate and erect our designs, 3D Designers play a key role in our organization, acting as the hub of design information from the architect and our engineering team, and translating that information into 3D models, layout and shop drawings, and CNC files used for fabrication on our shop floor and erection on site. StructureCraft is seeking 3D Designers (NOC 22212) to join our team to work on some of the largest mass timber projects across North America.
